Happy Saturday Everyone! Nice day to perform for a local estate sale. Good Times #LiveMusic #Spokane https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGnGp0JGovY

Today, I got to sit in the bright beautiful light of Spokane’s South Hill.  The shoppers and passers by were very kind.  I love this kind of gig.

There is a lot of background, traffic noise and talking, but that’s how you  know it’s live!

#LiveMusic #Spokane Estate Sale 15th and Bernard Tomorrow (Saturday 8/1) free music

If you find yourself on Spokane’s South Hill on Saturday morning, come on by. The lady who owns the house is super nice and has wonderful things to sell. I’ll be singing away in the yard and would love an audience.

The Estate Sale/ Concert

location: corner of 15th Ave and Bernard St

duration: 9-11:30 or so for me

price: free to listen and shop but you might find something you want to buy

supporting the arts (that’s me) and your neighbors (kinda me again): priceless (well, priceless to me😀)

let’s go ahead and make this about me…😛

Once I Was the Wind #lyrics #livemusic from an empty garage http://youtu.be/EWFNUcK92Ig

I love singing acapella in a room with crazy acoustics.  This was pure serendipity.  I wrote this song about 12-14 years ago back when I was studying music at Eastern Washington U. I sang it with a simple cello accompaniment for my junior recital. Today it seemed perfect because it is so calm and still today. I’m feeling peaceful.

You don’t need to watch the video. It’s for listening with less distraction.

ONCE I WAS THE WIND

ONCE I WAS THE WIND AND I SAW EVERYTHING THROUGH A DUSTY, IMPATIENT HAZE

I MISSED A LOT OF LIFE BECAUSE I NEVER STOOD IN PLACE

ONCE I WAS THE WIND

BUT NOW I’M ONLY IN A DAZE

ONCE I WAS A FIRE BURNING CONSTANTLY FOR HOUR AFTER HOUR

I NEVER LOVED THE SIMPLE LIFE

MY LIGHT WAS FAR TOO BRIGHT

ONCE I WAS A FIRE

BUT NOW I’M ONLY LIKE THE NIGHT

(chorus)

AND AS A RIVER I RUSHED TOO MUCH

AND AS A SPARROW I FLEW TOO HIGH

I NEVER GOT TO SEE I WAS MEANT TO BE

ONCE I WAS A FIRE

BUT NOW IM

I’M ONLY LIKE THE NIGHT

ONCE I WAS A SONG AND EVERYONE HEARD THE WORDS EXCEPT FOR ME

I RAMBLED ON AND ON AND NEVER HEARD A SINGLE THING

ONCE I WAS A SONG

BUT NOW I’M ONLY LIKE A DREAM

(Chorus)

ONCE I WAS A SONG

BUT NOW I’M ONLY LIKE A DREAM

(bridge)

SO IF I SEEM A LITTLE SAD, MY FACE A LITTLE LONG

IT’S JUST BECAUSE I’VE STOPPED PRETENDING

WHO I AM IS WRONG

ONCE I SANG A DREAM

BUT NOW I ONLY DREAM THE SONG

AND AS A RIVER I RUSHED TOO MUCH

AND AS A SPARROW I FLEW TOO HIGH

I NEVER GOT TO SEE I WAS MEANT TO BE

ONCE I SANG A DREAM

BUT NOW I ONLY DREAM…..

Super fun night of performing #LiveMusic at #Huckleberry’s Thank you #Spokane!

Tonight was a blast. I played from about 5-7:30pm.  The weather was perfect.  There was a nice little breeze that kept me cool.  I saw  Z Nation’s “Roberta Warren.”  She was super nice and friendly and did nothing to draw attention to herself.  There were lots of kind local people who stopped to listen and chat.  The best part was the little kids who smiled and danced while I played.

Thanks to those who took the time to listen.  It was the perfect stage.

You can follow me here or on Facebook if you would like a heads-up about where I’ll be playing next.  The more is always the merrier with this kind of thing.

Have a wonderful weekend everybody, and thank you Spokane for being you!

#LiveMusic #Spokane #Huckleberry’s #Outdoors Look for me tonight outside of Huckleberry’s on the South Hill around 5pm

Hey All,

So my master plan for today is to head out to Huckleberry’s on 10th and Monroe between 4:30pm and 5pm and play for a couple of hours.  Hopefully it wont be too rainy or hot or windy, and hopefully a few people will stop on by.

There is a beautiful view from the front of the store, and there is a nice place to sit and drink icy cold beverages or have a little picnic.

Maybe I’ll see you there.  If you come by, please let me know that you saw this blog post.

Frankie Ghee sings Jim Croce’s I GOT A NAME http://youtu.be/oazStvN5qbY #LiveMusic in #Spokane #Summer

This is the last offerring from yesterday’s street music outing.  Jim Croce has some amazing songs.  I find singing this song inspiring.  I hope you find something that inspires you this week.

Happy Summer!

#LiveMusic #Spokane Frankie Ghee sings ANNIE’S SONG by John Denver http://youtu.be/a0GaF8UbgYI

This is more footage from my outing yesterday.  It’s funny how songs from my youth are coming back into my life.  I spent a lot of my life performing with pop/rock bands.  I’m loving the freedom of folk music.

I hope this finds you in the middle of a great love affair.

Have an awesome day.

#BEN Frankie Ghee sings a cover of Michael Jackson’s BEN Composed by Don Black and Walter Scharf #LIveMusic

This is from tonight outside of RiteAid on the South Hill

You can hear the skate boarders careening by.  Dwayne had to save himself halfway through the song.  You might see something in the guitar reflections.

I really do love performing in real life settings with background noise and people coming and going.

Happy Summer

#Spokane #LiveMusic Frankie Ghee sings a cover of LIGHTS by Steve Perry and Neal Schon of Journey

This was recorded in front of RiteAid on the South Hill in Spokane.  It was a slow quiet night, but I was glad to be outside singing.  The weather has been a challenge this summer, so I haven’t done as much outside singing as I thought I would.  I think it is going to be better next week.  Look for me singing around Spokane.

I hope you are all someplace with the perfect little breeze doing something you enjoy.

Lights is one of my very favorite songs.  I hope you like my version.
