The Road to Weird

What if on your way to work this morning you notice that none of the street signs have the right names on them?  “Division Street” is “10th Avenue South.” “Empire” is “Main.”  “North Foothills Drive” is “Park Way.”  Most of the businesses along the main streets are same, but a few of them must have sprung up over night.  There’s a Hastings where the Exxon used to be.  There are too many brick houses in the residential areas, and the speed limits are completely out of whack.

What do you do?  Do you pull over and call someone on your cell phone? Do you keep driving on to work and bank on its still being there?  Do you hope that you’re the only one who notices the change, or do you hope that everyone else is freaking out about it?  Do you hope for a logical explanation, or do you look to the skies?  You know? For aliens.
