Slightly Odd Couple

To both of them, she was a goddess.

From Sonia’s perspective, life was easy.  She sailed through it as supreme deity upon corpses of the egos she had crushed and the hopes she’d maimed.  She gave nothing yet wanted for nothing and saw nothing wrong in this.

In Mallory’s mind, Sonia was the definition of beautiful, and she worshiped her doing her bidding like a chamber maid.  Mallory was content in being allowed to share such close proximity with this prize that was coveted by all who viewed it.

In this way, the two women worked for a time, filling each other’s need. 

Mallory was the only “friend” who did not try to steal from Sonia’s light.  She kept her head down and followed always at the proper distance, so that Sonia did not seem equaled or unfriended.

Sonia dominated Mallory which made Mallory feel needed and secure in her role as lackey for the queen.

The only problem with this arrangement, was that it was completely dependant upon a temporary truth.  Sonia was gorgeous.  The fact of Sonia’s extreme good looks kept both women sheltered and fed.  There was always a party, free drinks and a free meal for the goddess and her entourage.  

With the accident and the dramatic alteration in Sonia’s appearance, both women were left to rely on their personalities, and neither was prepared for such a fate.

My master plan is to start playing outside around 6:30pm and stay until 8:30pm or so.  If I need to relocate, I’ll post it here and on twitter.

There is room to loiter, so feel free to come and hang out a bit.

Tonight I had a very enjoyable 100 minutes playing and singing outside of the South Hill Rite Aid and Jimmy John’s.  I tried a couple of new pieces that went well. 

My goal right now is to get my business cards in the hands of people who will enjoy my website and even better into the hands of people who want to hire me to sing.

Near Trader Joe’s on 29th

Fitness Fanatics

There is an exclusive health club on Spokane’s South Hill.  Only a few elite fitness fanatics are allowed to join, and only they are aware of its existence.  This lucky handful of extremely athletic men and women have a few things in common.

ONE: Each of these grunting, sweaty tank top and bootie short sporting gym treats has dedicated on a regular basis at least three hours a day, six days a week to working on achieving, perfecting, or maintaining a physical presence that is worthy of awe.

TWO: These workout freaks are chiseled, cut to perfection, lean, ripped and bouncing a coin off their six pack abs-toned.

THREE: Every single one of this special health club’s devoted enthusiasts has taken the pursuit of physical magnificence to the most extreme levels including abusing at least three supplements never to be approved by the FDA.

FOUR: All of these faithful, single-minded souls were recommended by a member in good standing who vouched for them, guaranteeing the required levels of vanity, masochism and dedication necessary to achieve consistently impressive results.

FIVE:  Every last one of these steroid popping, cleanly shaven, oiled up, energy drink junkies…is dead.

SIX:  They all lived well and died happy.

For them…this is heaven.

What a great night to play music.  It took me an extra 20 minutes to get to Huckleberry’s tonight because of all the road construction, but it was worth the trouble.  I got to sing for some really cool people of all ages.  I even had one of my 6 year old audience members dancing. 

 With the weather staying so warm, it is easier to play in the evenings, so look for me tomorrow evening somewhere.  I’m thinking I’ll head back up the south hill around 6:30 or 7:00pm.  I would love it if you came by.
